About the Author

Dr. Anil Kumar Misra :-
He, Ph. D., is an Associate Professor in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at The NorthCap University (formerly ITM University), Gurugram, Haryana. He obtained his Bachelor's, Master's and Ph.D. degree from University of Lucknow. His major research interests are theoretical and experimental engineering geology, site reinforcement methods and geosynthetic engineering, building materials, Hydrology, Remote Sensing and GIS. He has successfully completed a number of sponsored research projects funded by government agencies and private sectors. Dr. Misra has published over thirty five technical papers in international refereed journals and international conferences. 

About the Book

Building Materials and Construction is primarily written for the students of Civil Engineering to make them familiar with building materials and construction practices to build their interest in the field. The book starts with explanation of building material concepts and goes on to explain all the important materials like Lime, Bricks, Cement, Timber, Concrete etc. in separate chapters following the same flow as prescribed in major universities.
