About the Author

Gourkrishna Dasmohapatra :-
He has a doctorate in science from Jadavpur University. He teaches at Science and Humanities Section, Netaji Subhash Engineering College, Kolkata, as well as at Jadavpur University. He has worked as post-doctoral fellow at Polymer Institute in Czechoslovakia, at Universitat-Siegen in Germany and also at Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, Kolkata for ten years in various capacities.
As a post-doctoral fellow, he worked on the synthesis and characterization of polymers and synthesis of some interesting compounds in the zeolite supercages. He also on the rare-earth doped glasses for their possible application in the fields of laser and phosphor materials, and controlled release glass fertilizers for application in fields. His current research focus is on the rare-earth spectroscopy in liquid media and some natural products for their application as acid-base indicators. He has more than thirty publications in international journals and conferences, as well as has some patents to his credit.
 

About the Book

The book has been designed according to the new AICTE syllabus and will cater to the needs of engineering students across all branches. The book provides the basis which is necessary for dealing with different types of physicochemical phenomena.
