About the Author
DEBASISH ROY CHOUDHURY :-
He obtained his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. He has served manufacturing industries like Guest-Keen-Williams (GKW) Ltd., Union Carbide Ltd. and Indian Railways in various areas of mechanical engineering for more than ten years. During more than the past twenty years he has been serving the government polytechnics in West Bengal as a faculty member in Mechanical Engineering. He has, in his credit, publication of five papers in different National and International journals in the field of Mechanical engineering. Mr. Roy Choudhury is presently working as Officer-in-Charge, Baruipur Government Polytechnic, 24-Paraganas (South), West Bengal.
SUMON ROY :-
He obtained his Master's Degree from Bengal Engineering & Science University (BESU). He has served manufacturing industries like Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd., the Philips group and the Borosil group of companies for more than fourteen years. He has also completed AICWA (Cost Accountancy) Examination and has, in his possession, Post Graduate Diploma in Management. During the past sixteen years he has been serving the government polytechnics in West Bengal as a faculty member in Mechanical Engineering. He has also acted as Assistant Director to the Govt. of West Bengal in the Technical Education & Training Directorate. Mr. Roy is presently working as a Sr. Lecturer & Head, Mechanical Engineering Department, APC Roy Polytechnic, Kolkata.
About the Book
The subject Strength of Materials is concerned with those properties of engineering and engineered materials that ensures its ability to provide safety and stability during its operating life.
